General Description

  • Cefotaxime, is an antibiotic with broad-spectrum activity against aerobic and anaerobic bacteria
  • It has been shown to have a high frequency of resistance mechanisms against strains such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Applications

  • L Cefotaxime has broad spectrum antibacterial activity
  • It binds to the penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), resulting in inhibition of the final transpeptidation step of peptidoglycan synthesis in bacterial cell walls
