Description

Inducera uttrycket av gener under kontroll av lac-operon i klonings- och proteinuttrycksprocedurer.

IPTG (isopropyl-beta-D-tiogalaktopyranosid) är en mycket stabil syntetisk analog av laktos. Det inaktiverar lac- repressorn och inducerar syntes av beta-galaktosidas, ett enzym som främjar laktosanvändning. IPTG används för att inducera uttryck av klonade gener under kontroll av lac -operonet. Den används tillsammans med X-Gal (#R0941) för att bestämma lac- fenotypen i blå/vit koloniscreening.

It inactivates the lac repressor and induces synthesis of beta-galactosidase, an enzyme that promotes lactose utilization. IPTG is used to induce expression of cloned genes under control of the lac operon. It is used in conjunction with X-Gal to determine the lac phenotype in blue/white colony screening.

Ready-to-use 100mM IPTG aqueous solution is non-toxic, stable, 0.22μm membrane-filtered, formulated for direct use in blue/white colony screening.
