Beskrivning

It is a modification of Ham's nutrient mixture F-12 designed for the growth of non-transformed cell types in a serum-free formulation.

  • The medium contains supplements that optimize the growth of specific cell types.
  • MCDB 153 medium is suitable for human epidermal keratinocyte culture, clonal growth of chicken embryo fibroblasts, and Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO) cells using low levels of Fetal Bovine Serum Protein (FBSP), trace elements, or no serum protein.
  • Modified as follows:
    • With L-Glutamine
    • With Phenol Red
    • With Sodium Bicarbonate
    • With Sodium Pyruvate
    • With Hydrocortisone, T3, Testosterone, Insulin, Transferrin, and Sodium Selenite
    • With MEM-NEAA
    • With Glucose
