The Oxoid Replacement Desiccant fits both the Oxoid 8- and 12-position antimicrobial susceptibility disc dispensers.One of the simplest and most widely used methods for susceptibility testing, disc diffusion is extremely flexible, offering a wide variety of antibiotics and concentrations which can easily be changed as required.
disc diffusion not only categorizes resistant, intermediate and sensitive organisms through quantitative results but also provides a visual indication of the following:
- Inoculum level
- Presence of contamination
- Resistant mutants
- Beta-lactamase activity
