β2-adrenoceptor agonist

Salbutamol hemisulfate is a selective β2-adrenergic agonist with 29-fold higher selectivity for β2 over β1 receptors. Salbutamol elevates fibroblast growth factor 20 (FGF20) in nigrostriatal neurons, and is neuroprotective in a mouse model of Parkinson's disease.
