Vår streptavidin, Alexa Fluor 405-konjugat är en ljus, fotostabil sond med excitations-/emissionsmaxima på 402 och 421 nm. Streptavidin är ett icke-glykosylerat biotinbindande protein som är isolerat från bakterier och har en nästan neutral isoelektrisk punkt. Det används i stor utsträckning för att detektera biotinylerade prober, eftersom det enligt uppgift uppvisar mindre ospecifik bindning än det glykosylerade, biotinbindande proteinet avidin.
