Thermo Scientific™ Thrombo-Wellcotest™ Rapid Latex Agglutination Test

Use this simple, rapid, semi-quantitative test for the presence of fibrin/fibrinogen degredation products (FDP) in human serum and urine samples.

The test is designed as a slide agglutination method in which one drop of sample and one drop of latex suspension are mixed. A distinct agglutination pattern at the end of the test period indicates the presence of 2μg/ml FDP or more in the sample under test. By assaying samples at two different dilutions, an approximate FDP value can be determined.

Capable of detecting the presence of all the major breakdown products of fibrin or fibrinogen. The levels measured by this latex test correlate well with results obtained with a haemagglutination-inhibition immunoassay.

• Thrombo-Wellcotest Collection Tubes (Part No. R30853001)—Glass tubes contain soya bean trypsin inhibitor (approximately 3600 NF units/tube) and Bothrops atrox venom (>10μg/tube) for the collection of 2mL whole blood or urine.
• Thrombo-Wellcotest Glycine Saline Buffer (Part No. R30853101)—Glycine saline buffer is provided as a replacement item in instances where multiple tests have exhausted the supply of this component.
