Description

Mre11 is an 80 kDa protein that acts as a Mn+2 dependent double stranded DNA 3′ to 5′ exonuclease and a single stranded DNA endonuclease. It is part of a larger complex with Rad50, p95 (Nibrin) and possibly other associated proteins involved in the nucleolytic end-processing of double strand breaks and telomere maintece.
