Life Science-buffertar
Balanserade saltlösningar och pulver som används för molekylära, protein-, nukleinsyra- och cellbiologiska tillämpningar inklusive cellodling, elektrofores, ELISA och kromatografiprocesser; finns i en mängd olika formuleringar och kvaliteter.
Buffertlösningar tjänar till att hålla pH (surhet eller alkalinitet) nästan konstant i en mängd olika kemiska och biologiska tillämpningar. Till exempel hjälper en bikarbonatbuffert att bibehålla pH i blodet, en buffrad saltlösning bibehåller cellulärt innehåll på en konsekvent pH-nivå, och buffertar hjälper till att upprätthålla ett smalt pH-intervall för att enzymer ska fungera korrekt.
De flesta biologiska prover som används i forskning hålls vid ett pH på cirka 7,4. Vanliga biologiska buffertar som används för vävnadsodling inkluderar Dulbeccos fosfatbuffrad saltlösning (PBS), Tris-bas, HEPES, MOPS, PIPES och andra formuleringar utvecklade för specifika cellinjer eller tillämpningar. De flesta buffertar som används i cellkultur är också DNas-, RNas- och proteasfria.
Valet av buffert för en viss biologisk reaktion eller plats beror på flera faktorer:
