Description
Carrier-Free Reconstitution: Centrifuge the vial briefly, before opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute the lyophilized protein in deionized water to 0.1-1.0 mg/mL to regain full activity. Apportion the reconstituted protein into working aliquots and store at ≤-20°C. Make any further dilutions of the reconstituted protein in low endotoxin medium or buffered solution with FBS or tissue culture grade BSA. Storage: Store the lyophilized protein at 2-8°C or -20°C for long term storage, preferably desiccated. Upon reconstitution, apportion into working aliquots and store at ≤-20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Interleukin 3 (IL-3), also called Mast Cell Growth Factor (MCGF), Multi-Colony Stimulating Factor (multi-CSF), or Eosinophil-CSF (E-CSF), is produced by activated T cells, mast cells and eosinophils. IL-3 is a hematopoietic growth factor that stimulates colony formation of erythroid, megakaryocyte, neutrophil, eosinophil, basophil, mast cell and monocytic lineages. Most of these functions are enhanced or dependent on co-stimulation with other cytokines. Human and mouse IL-3 share only 29% sequence identity at the amino acid level. The bioactivity of IL-3 is highly species specific. For example, human IL-3 has no activity on mouse cells. IL-3 is a potent growth promoting cytokine. IL-3 is capable of supporting the proliferation of a broad range of hematopoietic cell types, and is involved in a variety of cell activities such as cell growth, differentiation and apoptosis. IL-3 has been shown to also possess neurotrophic activity, and it may be associated with neurologic disorders.Specifications
